PASS IT ON.
I have loved so many things about my job over the last 3 years and second from building an incredible community, I have loved the journey of building this business from nothing.
Today @lisahomsy and I get to share our story and pass on some of our knowledge to a younger generation. When we were in high school, we had dial up internet, cellphones with the snake game (no data plan) and msn messenger. These days kids grow up with social media, iPhones and the internet available at their fingertips.
Pass on your knowledge. It has the potential to open a door for someone to see what’s possible. ❤️
No travels planned in 2019 yet but I’d love to explore some really warm places 🌸
Until then these are some things I plan to work on for the rest of the month...
✖︎ Email a few brands I’d love to work with (must be making sustainability efforts)
✖︎ Set up a budget in a google sheet document
✖︎ Make a few editing videos for you guys
✖︎ Spend more time writing blog posts
✖︎ Try celery juicing (I’m curious)
✖︎ Work on some new presets (you guys asked for more so I shall deliver!)

On a scale from 1-10 how important is FUN for you? And what do you do for fun?
I realize now more than ever that it’s important to have FUN! To be silly, let loose and try different things that you’ve always wanted to try. No matter how you look or what people think, if you’re having fun and you’re laughing, you will be a happier human! I personally love to have dance parties alone in my room and I love playing board games!
[THANK YOU! I wanted to thank those of you that answered my story questions yesterday. I was so SURPRISED about what came up but it got me really EXCITED cause it’s things I love doing and talking about!]
What’s one sea creature you’d like to meet in person?! 🐬🐳🐋🦈
Took a snorkeling trip out to the reef, we swam around a while seeing so many pretty fish. I looked up to see where our guide was and he started waving at me to swim towards him. He swiped the GoPro out of my hands and dove down. Wasn’t sure what he was seeing until two turtles came out of hiding and swam around. I couldn’t contain my excitement, so many feelings lol. The ocean is such a mysterious and beautiful place.

Have you guys set 2019 goals already?! If you have I want to hear one in the comments :)
I spent the last two weeks of 2018 thinking about what I wanted to create for myself in 2019. I realized how important it was for me to set goals because I’m someone who needs direction.
I wrote a short blog post on how I set my goals and what I use. I also included some of my goals for this year. If you’re interested to read it the link is in my bio.
Would love to hear one goal you have for this year. One of mine is to redesign my office.
How do you find your way?
Here’s my story, for 5-6 months this year I felt like I lost my way. I defined my success on numbers, engagement and forgot who I was and what I wanted. It made me miserable and I felt like I couldn’t get out of a hole I had dug myself. Here’s how I found my way back and some of the things I started practicing along the way.
Listen to your own voice.
Don’t be afraid to take a step back.
Tune out the comparison of others.
Tune out what you or others think you should do.
Give yourself permission to be lost and curious.
Don’t be afraid to speak up and say what’s really on your mind.
Surround yourself with love and support.
Don’t beat yourself up, you are allowed to feel how you feel.
Practice turning every negative thought into a positive one.
Tune into your own voice, meditation can help.
Pay attention to the things that light you up and what fulfills you.
Express who you really are, you were born to stand out from everyone else.
I’m sharing all this because I know that with social media, no one is alone. There is probably someone out there feeling the same way and maybe what I learnt this year could help someone else. I am very much looking forward to 2019 and all it has to offer and to have you guys here reading and listening everyday, it means a lot ❤️
Have you ever heard of the term “self-fulfilling prophecy?”
It’s when you have a thought that’s not true like “I’m going to have the worst week, I can feel it” and then things start to happen to make that fallacy come true. Your get a flat tire, you have a fight with someone, your hair isn’t cooperating, a client is upset and then you say “see! I knew it was going to be a bad week”
The more you feed into your own prophecy that you’ll have the worst week the more it starts to come true.
Let’s only put out the good and positive vibes to the universe. We are all going to have a very fulfilling week! We will be kind, forgiving, loving, patient, full of laughter and ready to take on any challenge that comes our way. Love you guys ❤️
When I was thinking of a caption for this photo the first word that came to mind was vulnerable. I feel social media is (or should be) a lot about vulnerability. You are putting yourself out there for everyone to see, to potentially be judged, to be loved or to be hated. It’s a terrifying yet beautiful thing at the same time.
“Vulnerability is our most accurate measure of courage...when we shut ourselves off from vulnerability, we distance ourselves from the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives and to our work.” - Brené Brown
I personally really enjoy being vulnerable on this platform because I like having real conversations with you. If I didn’t allow myself to be vulnerable I wouldn’t have as many opportunities to learn and grow, my work would be different and so would my relationships.
We are all so different and each have so much to offer in our own unique ways. It’s a beautiful thing to let yourself truly be seen and to be heard.
✨: @raxxan thank you for adding the Milky Way in the sky ☺️
