Could not be more thrilled to add @nate_michaels to our Local Artist Team! He brought us three of his Hand Embellished Giclees with Acrylic Paint on Canvas which are 24x30 and a handful of Matted Prints which are all AMAZING!! He brought in a Joe Rogan Print as well but @joshplomin bought that one before we could get the display together lol!
Here’s a sneak peek at something new I’m working on for release later this year. 2019 marks the 80thanniversary of the movie version Wizard of OZ, one of my al-time favorites. Still as much fun today as it was when I was a kid. I think this will be a nice tribute!
One of my favorite experiences at ECCC this year was shooting with @susanonysko as part of her 50 Sates of Cosplay project! She brought a complete professional photo studio into the convention and set it up in one of the rooms. Despite my tight schedule on Saturday we were able to find a good time to shoot together. The previews I saw on the camera were stunning with the lights catching the tulle and hair and metallics and just making it glow! I can’t wait to see the final photos but until then I get to cherish the opportunities and experiences that this cosplay has brought me, it really means so much to me.
Oh, also princess hand posing video because what else are you gonna do in a giant dress?

"You've always had the power ... You just had to learn it for yourself." ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
Despite getting the Wicked Witch's broomstick, the Wizard can't send Dorothy back to Kansas. It's not within his power. Distraught, Dorothy pleads with Glinda to send her back. To her surprise, Dorothy learns that she could've gone home at any time. She always had the power.... At times, I've been blinded by my flaws and failures that I forget everything I need is already within me. Life's trials prove what's already in you -- strength, courage, grace, wisdom. Like Dorothy, I've looked to others to "get me back to Kansas" because I didn't think I was strong enough, dedicated enough, blah blah blah. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
Wear the ruby red slippers if you want. Just remember, the magic is you.
MM011 - Dorothy Gale
Set: 71023 | Year: 2019 | Pieces: 5
It’s safe to say that the four Wizard of Oz characters featured in the Lego Movie 2 Collectable Minifig Series were some of the most eagerly anticipated in 2019. The films protagonist, as with her three companions, is extremely well detailed and accurate to the original 1939 film. Her torso shows a blue and white dress print with a gingham pattern and a fabric component to match covering most of the legs. Personally I’m not a huge fan of these fabric pieces and would much preferred the print to be extended down through the hips and into the legs. Dual-moulded arms are included to represent short sleeves. Dorothy’s famed ruby slippers are a real stand out element and are printed around the feet with yellow dots representing sparkles. The weakest part of the figure is her head printing, whilst the expressions are okay, red lips would have been closer to the original source material. Her hair piece makes up for this however with a particularly accurate design made of a sightly flexible rubber.
MM Score 8/10
