“Don’t choose unhappiness over uncertainty” ~ I heard this recently (can’t remember where) but it is such a brilliant quote that relates to tackling your fears head on, in the pursuit of your dreams. This is definitely a good one if you’re looking for an epic 2019! ✨
Stunning and thought provoking shot by one of my favourite photographers 📸 @_tomnoske ✨ #takemetoaustralia
Feelin' that New York City magic in the heart of #brisbane!
Having the Bridge right above @howardsmithwharves definitely reminds me of NYC and I just love this photo I captured on thursday night 😍
Felon's Brewery is the place to be at the moment. Great atmosphere, awesome food and a beautiful area to just chill and catch up with friends.
For people who will be visiting Brisbane, add this to your list of places to eat and drink at! .
Great Bay, Bruny Island, TAS
We had a great time in Tassie before Christmas, but, truth be told, we didn’t get the best weather. Our day on Bruny Island was spent largely in the mist, not being able to see too far ahead. We had a great time though – the Bruny Island Cheese and Beer Company was a highlight 😊 Love their Cloudy Bay IPA!!! We were returning in the afternoon to catch the ferry when I saw a mass of bright green seaweed on the rocks, which was a welcome relief of colour to the overall scene. This image took a lot of getting. Many, many frames taken, and many wipe downs of the lens to remove the drizzle that was being blown in many directions at once. And those rocks were slippery!
I just love the fact that an island as lovely as Bruny would be in the sunshine can still be awesome in other kinds of weather.

Our skyline has changed a lot over the last few decades. I’m not normally a fan of high rises but I’m really liking the look of the Jewel. The different colours it reflects depending on the time of the day is a photographers delight ❤️ Day 21 📷
A little lesson in noticing the beauty in nature around us and snapping yourself out of a routine... I have driven past this beautiful Poinsiana tree on the way to my gym dozens of times and not noticed it in my rush to get there. Over the Christmas holidays I changed my routine and went to the gym at a different time and because I wasn’t rushing to get home, noticed the tree had a canopy that stretched from one side of the road to the other like a beautiful natural red umbrella ☔️...so naturally I had to go back and photograph it. I love the shade these trees provide as well as their gorgeous flowers. The magpie bird photobombing my shot adds the Australian element... he wasn’t dive bombing me but just trying to stand in the shelter of the shade, although I wasn’t willing to actually walk under the tree to test out whether any of his relatives were waiting. The Poinsiana is native to Madagascar but they are a character tree that line the streets of the older suburbs of Brisbane and flower in Summer. Obviously we must have a similar climate to Madagascar. Lesson... notice the things nature gives you everyday.
Yesterday we took the family to a secret snorkelling spot near Yallingup. The 500m walk down a narrow dirt track was well worth the visit. In the first image I can see the cogs ticking through my daughters brain as she watches on as other beach goers jump into crystal clear water below. It wasn’t long before she was doing the same!
