Our itinerary: Milan to Amalfi Coast with improvised stops in between. Our car: the @maserati Quattroporte - part road-trip chariot for the family, part 4-door sports car for me @petrolista, (aka Dad).
Before our daughter Luna, my wife Kika and I wandered through Italy like nomads in our '68 Alfa Romeo Sprint GT. Now, in need of something a bit bigger and safer without compromising on style or sportiness, the Quattroporte fit the bill. Our first few days on the road looked like this:
Milan > southern Tuscan coast: Immediately spoiled by god-like torque. And that interior!
Castagneto Carducci > Tarquina: Lunch stop. Wide open roads = effortless cruising at 200 km/h.
Tarquinia > Amalfi Coast: The anarchy of minuscule coast roads and haphazard traffic has never been so beautiful. Also, how on earth do these people on Vespas live past 25?
Amalfi Coast: A Quattroporte in Nero Ribelle commands respect and presence in these parts.
Pro-tip: never miss a good photo op with a Fiat Panda.
Driving the chaotic coast was certainly entertaining, but not where the Quattroporte could show of its party piece. Next, we're off to central Lazio followed by Pienza in the middle of Tuscany, where the countryside and hilly roads hold great promise flexing the Quattroporte's muscles. Here are some snaps I took along the way (Part 1/2)
🔥😍 Those before and afters 😍🔥 This morning was spent at @autogleam carrying out a wash and engine bay detail on a Range Rover Autobiography, and a engine bay steaming and detail on a Clio.
Sadly forgot to get pictures of the range rovers engine bay, which came up lovely. But i took quite a few of the clios as it had been some while since its bay had s clean!
