Built in 2005 and 2006, the Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 is probably the most overlooked and underrated SRT model there is. It was based on the Mercedes Benz SLK, and essentially shared all mechanical components with it. The Crossfire received unique, controversial styling, although the car was much more well received in convertible form. The SRT- 6 was powered by a supercharged version of the German's 3.2L V6 that was good for 330hp and 310 lb.- ft. of torque. The power was sent to the rear wheels through a 5 speed automatic transmission. The SRT also featured a larger front air dam, a fixed rear spoiler (as opposed to the retractable one found on other Crossfires), beefier suspension components and brakes, and an alcantara and leather interior. The SRT-6 was capable of 4.8 second zero to sixty times and low 13 second quarter mile runs, making it one of the best performing Chryslers ever made (bested only by the SRT 300s). Just 4,071 SRT-6s were built, while total Crossfire production peaked at just above 80,000 from 2005 to 2008. 2006 SRT-6 models are a rare find due to the car being special order only that year, with just 116 built for the US and another 180 for Europe. #mopar#chrysler#crossfire#SRT#mercedes
