I set my camera up and controlled it via an app on my phone which allowed me to have a skate along Princes Pier as the sun was going down, which was so much fun.... before the storm hit and it started to rain!
On the day which we saw the first image of a black hole, I began thinking of how people were laughing at the quality of the image. I initially began along those lines but my thoughts quickly shifted to how amazing it is that we are peering back into time with that image, we are literally looking in the past. I then began thinking about my favourite movie, Interstellar, and how it so amazingly depicted that time can move faster or slower depending on relativity. We get so wrapped up in the human definition of time being the standard set by the time that elapses during 9,192,631,770 cycles of the radiation produced by the transition between two levels of the caesium 133 atom (1 second) that we forget that it is up to us to interpret it differently should we want to. Time is amazing. Time is ethereal. Time is malleable.
