I am going to make an appreciation post later but I want to get this off my chest. This Rod Run has been the best Rod Run. That being said, I had an incident Friday night leaving the pre-party of @tndiesel truck fest event where someone threw a rock at my truck, hit it, and then hit a person walking by. Now that being said, I have a very good idea on who it is even tho the person did not show them selves and hide like a coward. ————————————————————————
My first initial response was to get out and start to find the person so I could cuss them out and hopefully let the police know who they were. I was beyond pissed off because I was raised that if you have an issue with someone, you go to them to talk it out and you never vandalize their property (apparently some people aren’t raised like that). Lucky I can’t find a scratch or dent in the truck so I got lucky. ————————————————————————
Now that I have had time to stop and process it, I want to say this. I am sorry to the person that threw the rock at my truck that you feel so insecure and jealous over a vehicle. An object that anyone can own if they work hard enough for it. And I feel your pain also because I used to be like you. I have never vandalized a vehicle but I have been very jealous and insecure in my past to the point where I wanted to start stuff with people to make myself feel better, when it actually doesn’t help at all. I learned that if you work hard, hustle, and grind, you can literally accomplish anything. I hope the person who threw the rock reads this and comes to realize this behavior gets you nowhere in life. If you want to message me, owning up to it and talk it out like an adult, I am all ears. I’d rather help you because I know what is going on in your head. I have been down the same road as you. So if you want help to becomes a better person and need someone to be there for you, I am here. If not and this happens again, I will get the fullest extent of law enforcement involved. Because no one should have to worry about people vandalizing their truck at a truck show. Make sure to follow us @trucks_and_water!
Lots of people assume because my last name is Mendez-Valdez that I’m Hispanic. But I just married into both last names (and have a whole blog post that talks about why). I met a boy, fell in love, got married, and had two little Latinas. 🥰 As their mom, it brings me a huge amount of joy to learn about the Hispanic culture right along with them. Like going to a Charreada today with @chevrolet. I can’t wait to share more with y’all soon. But for now, just know that I’m a proud mom of two fiesty Mexicanas, and I loved sitting next to them today, watching fierce Latinas show off their talents. ♥️🇲🇽♥️ #FindNewRoads#Chevy#Silverado#hispanicheritagemonth
