The event is part of Hallgate summer fair, so bring the family as there’s plenty of entertainment, stalls, rides, displays, refreshments & food!

It’s funny how sometimes you can remember a feeling from a photo, I suppose that’s what photos are all about. This photo still makes me cringe but then with me taking my weekly progress pictures....their are already similar cringeworthy photos out there!! 😳I remember that I had started this whole weight loss process and I think I’d lost about a stone! But when you’re that big nobody even notices which is why you have to completely do it for you and just keep chipping away at it. You have to be the one that drives it yourself! I think when I was that big I lost my self worth as I just didn’t like me or what I saw in the mirror. In the left picture I was around a size 22 and the right I’m currently a 12/14...That makes me feel good 😊 My relationship with food had always been bad and I’d always comfort ate when times had got hard....something of which I’ve had to address. I now don’t have that relationship with food....yes I’m a foodie but I don’t use it as an emotional crutch! Instead I’ll do something positive like hit the gym or go for a run as now that’s my thing and my lifestyle. I’m a lot happier now and I think that’s because of the gym and this whole process I’ve not only gained a physical strength but also a mental strength. I’ve made friends and I have my goals and ambitions. We’ve all got it in us to make the changes and sometimes it’s just a case of grabbing the bull by the horns. ————————————————————————-

Really loving how much my skills have progressed since I started experimenting with oil portraits just over 6 months ago. My medium used to be limited to only a pencil and a paper.. I remember, during my high school days, when I would challenge myself to complete a portrait a day. It was never very good and was too 2 dimensional. I had no idea where to shade but I learned. I taught myself how to do better through trial and error. I'm not saying that I've perfected portraiture (trust me, I’m not there yet 😅). BUT I just wanted to acknowledge how much progress I have made throughout the years and share how I got to where I am now.
Acknowledgment, for me, is really important. When I find myself stressed out and questioning my abilities, I try to look back to what I have accomplished. It tends to get me thinking positively instead of negatively and gives me that boost of confidence.
