Visiting the former Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo captivates as fish merchants bargain and try to sell their best products while tourist crowds created mayhem in this organized and structured (for the people in the business) market.
From raw tuna and all the existing dried fish to the outer market shops, a visit was always the occasion to buy the peculiar as well as the common products.
Now moved to Toyosu, the market may have lost its atmosphere and people will certainly miss it as an long lost friend.
This was an unexpected cheeky iPhone capture as I had to walk back to the station through the temple. It was late, freezing cold and raining heavily but I’ve never seen Sensoji with no people so I had to take a quick snap here. Come New Year’s Day this will be one of the busiest places in Japan! .
