Oh hey, my tiefling Monstersona for Ross’ Zine-O-Verse also doubles nicely as a spooky icon for the Halloween season! Yeah it’s September 16th, I hear you, but it’s Halloween in my heart.
Should I open icon commissions for Halloween/monster themed icons? Would anyone be interested? Let me know in the comments!
Shallow Graves by Kali Wallace
Quick version - a great concept, quick start and interesting characters. The ending lost some of its fizzle but still enjoyable.
Breezy Lin wakes up in a shallow grave one year after her death. She doesn’t remember what happened to her, but she realizes her reanimation comes with some unique powers. We follow along with her as she utilizes her powers and tries to figure out why she is (sort of) alive.
If you are looking for some seasonal, spooky reads, Shallow Graves is perfect for that! Ghouls, banshees, and all kinds of other assorted monsters live in the pages of this book.
This was an easy, enjoyable read. Nothing earth shattering but perfect for fall! I give Shallow Graves 3.75 stars.
Give me 20 minutes and I could look like a whole different person.
Give me 1 second and I could be a whole different person.
At a young age I learned that I have that power.
At an age that is far too young to be as old as I was, I learned not all powers are fun.
I'm still in my 20s, but I'm tired.
I don't do that shit anymore unless I have to save someone.
I could be, but I refuse to be, because I'm tired.
I could be, but I refuse to be, because I'm too young to be this old.
I could be, but I refuse to be, because under your bed is a cramped up place to be.
