I’ve heard it hundreds of time, “no matter what I do, my hair always has split ends”. Some hair is just physiologically more fragile than others. I’m gonna point out some obvious split end no-no’s:
•FLAT IRONS - They will give you split ends, they will dry your hair out and cause damage. If you must use a flat iron, make sure to use a heat protectant and DO NOT crank that baby up to full heat! Most of the time medium or low heat will do the trick. If it doesn’t, then consider getting a keratin smoothing treatment. •Detangling - We’ve all done it, our hair is knotted and we rip at it with a brush or comb. Well, ripping at your hair will most definitely cause split ends. Instead, invest in a good detangler spray and gently start from the bottom and work your way up.
• Brushing your hair wet - Invest in a “wet brush” You can thank me later.
• Excessive Blow Drying - If you find yourself blow drying your hair daily, change up your routine, get a dry shampoo and let that baby last 4 days! Drying wet hair with heat every single day is very damaging to your fragile ends.
•BLEACHING - Duh. Always listen to your stylists suggestions on home care!
•PICKING at your split ends - Just no! 🤦♂️
•And for those who are STILL having trouble, coat your ends in conditioner before you get in the pool, ocean or shower. This will seal them and prevent chemicals, salt, and shampoo from drying them out even more.
Highlights aren’t just for blondes! They’re for anyone who wants dimensions of any tone. My client had all over solid black dye on her hair and wanted some warm toned highlights to bring her to a more dimensional chocolate brown! This was the first session :) unfortunately didn’t get a before picture, but it was solid level 1 black. ❤️
