A message to all the tourists and people interested in visiting Puerto Rico:
What makes Puerto Rico beautiful? It’s more than the natural beauty and paradisiac sceneries. It’s also their people, the ones that make those appetizing plates and energetic music that you guys so passionately try to dance to. Puerto Ricans are passionate, energetic, loud, opinionated, filled with puns and are very artistic. This is a display of who we are and how we express our anger towards our government and current Governor of Puerto Rico #RickyRosello.
I write this because I’ve seen people posting that “we are closed for tourism”, or people asking if they shouldn’t visit Puerto Rico. Our island is big enough for you to explore and enjoy its beaches and waterfalls, and for us to protest in an orderly manner until our governor accepts that he has to #resign . As you can see in the pictures, we express ourselves with music and art hoping to be heard. All the protests are planned in advanced, so you’ll know which places to evade if you don’t want to join our activities. We are not angry at the tourists, we are angry with our government and there’s nothing for you to fear.
I don’t have many followers but I hope this message reaches at least one person who is considering to visit our precious island.
Paro Nacional 07/22/19, San Juan Puerto Rico 🇵🇷.
I am Puerto Rican from the blood of my parents 🇵🇷. Oh, and we are Americans 🇺🇸. Yes, American citizens. For more than 100 years, in fact.
We also speak Spanish and English AND we have served in the US military since 1917. Yes, really!
We receive $22.5 billion 💵 a year in social assistance and government grants; BUT we produce over $73 billion for the US economy. We definitely give more than what we recieve!
Why do we have two surnames? Because women do not lose their last name when they get married and because we do not forget our mothers.
Our small island, surrounded by great waters, gives more members to military service than any other state of the US.
And we have astronauts👩🏽🚀🚀, NASA 👩🏻🏭🚀🛰🔭👨🏻🏭 engineers, scientists 👩🏻🔬🌡🧪🧫🦠🧬🔬👨🏻🔬, judges of the supreme court 👩🏻⚖👨🏻⚖, a gold medal receiver of honor 🥇, 5 CROWNS OF MISS UNIVERSE 👸🏻👑; Academy Awards 🏆, Grammys 🏆, Tony Awards🏆, Hall of Fame Athletes⚽🏀🏈⚾🎾🏐🥏🥊🏓🚲, world-class artists 🎞🎬🎤🎧🎹🥁🎷🎺🎸🎻🎨🎭, many doctors and nurses 👩🏻⚕👨🏻⚕, and many, many more distinguished citizens who call our beautiful little island home. 👮🏻♀👮🏻♂👷🏻♀👷🏼♂🕵🏻♀🕵🏻♂👩🏻🌾👨🏻🌾👩🏻🍳👨🏻🍳👩🏻🎓👨🏽🎓👩🏻🏫👨🏻🏫👩🏻💼👨🏻💼👩🏻🔧👨🏻🔧👩🏻🎨👨🏻🎨👩🏻🚒👨🏻🚒. We are a beautiful and interesting mixture of blood line; 34% Taino 👦🏽, 33% European 👱🏼♂ and 33% African🧔🏿-which gives us an incredible drive to survive. Nothing breaks our Spirit, nothing! 🤞🏼 We are helpful, love to party 🎶🎉🎊💃🏻🥳 and we never give up. We help others, even those who come to help us. It's just how we are. 😍😁🤔😅💪. #PuertoRicoStrong 👊🏼

🇵🇷🖤 #rickyrenuncia#rickyrenunciaya#GameOverRicky#RickyLeaks#paronacional
