In 1988 I saw Flipper in Boston. I’d been a fan since discovering them in Philadelphia in Art school around 1983. Their Boston concert ended after 10 minutes when this jerk from the audience threw a dead squirrel at the lead singer. Flipper was furious (so was I!) and they stormed off the stage. 31 years later at Bosanova Ballroom I finally get to see Flipper again! Here with original drummer Steve DePace and Scott Fox (Crackerbash, Satans Pilgrims, The Pynnacles) reminding Steve of that infamous squirrel night at ‘’The Middle East Club”. Thanks Mr Fox for ticket! #flippertheband#bossanovaballroom#flipper#punkrock#stevedepace

This past weekend I attended the 2019 Portland Lindy Exchange for the very first time and it was SUCH A BLAST. The bands were on fire, the venue was beautiful (and had drinks 😉), and the emcee was the always amazing @pacerubadeau ! It was fun to see my friend in action, he killed it as always. I made some new friends and had some truly delightful dances.
I also made my first foray into vintage clothing. Thank goodness I had @shy_vintage_girl with me to find all the best vintage shops. Getting so much quality time with one of my best friends made this experience truly special. I left with three gorgeous pieces (pictures to come), two from the 50’s and one from the 80’s and I’m dying to wear them.
By one of the most incredible coincidences two of my sisters, my niece, and my mom were in Portland for a girls weekend that was requested by my sweet niece so I went to the Oregon Zoo and surprised them! It was so wonderful to see them and the Oregon zoo has the cutest, happiest elephants I’ve ever seen.
It was nice to go away for a dance weekend and not do any of the workshops for once because while they’re always fun, this felt more like a vacation and I got to experience a lot more of the Rose City and my friends than I would have otherwise! Thanks to everyone who made this weekend so much fun. I didn’t take anywhere near enough photos but I have a couple cute ones of my niece at least!
