I could list off a hundred core exercises off the top of my head, but here are just 10 options for you guys to try and sprinkle into your training routines. 💪🏼 Something that has worked great for me is that I include 2-3 sets of 3 different exercises at the end of EVERY workout. 😅

I can’t emphasize enough the importance of core strength. Your core muscles are the stabilizers of your entire body during most movements. It improves your posture and can help prevent LBP (low back pain), which many people suffer from. 
Give these baddies a shot in your next workout and let me know what you think! 
Below are the typical reps I shoot for when doing these exercises: 
1. Stability Ball/TRX Knee Tucks: 12-15
2. Weighted Sit-Ups: 10-12
3. Weighted Toe Touches: 15-20
4. Sprinter Sit-Ups: 12-16 
5. Hip Dips: 16-20
6. Spider-Man’s: 16-20
7. Ab Roller: 8-12
8. Penguins: 20-30
9. Russian Twists: 16-20
10. Starfish: 8-10 each

Day 5 of my @stephencabral Detox. My back is feeling amazing today ✨. It was my first time week going to the gym this week(although I have been cycling to and from work🚴🏽‍♀️). I only did a light session focusing on stretching and bodyweight exercises. From the weekend onwards I want to get back into a proper gym routine and get back to building muscle 🏋🏽‍♀️. I had some fruit for the first time yesterday as well (frozen berries and cherries from our garden 🍒) - it was delicious!! I need to make sure though to manage my stress levels better and to prioritise sleep, as both have not been ideal this week. Tomorrow is sauna time - can't wait 🤗.

🇩🇪Tag 5 meines @stephencabral Detoxes. Mein Rücken fühlt sich heute super an ✨. Ich war außerdem das erste mal diese Woche im Fitnessstudio (Fahre aber jeden Tag mit dem Fahrrad zur Arbeit 🚴🏽‍♀️). Ich bin es ruhiger angegangen, und habe mich aufs Dehnen konzentrieren sowie Übungen mit meinem eigenen Körpergewicht. Ab dem Wochenende will ich dann wieder in eine richtige Routine reinkommen um Muskeln aufzubauen 🏋🏽‍♀️. Gestern gabs auch das erste Mal Obst (Beeren und Kirschen aus dem Garten 🍒) - köstlich!! Worauf ich allerdings achten muss ich dass ich meinen Alltags- und generellen Stress besser in den Griff bekomme und Schlaf zur Priorität mache - beides war diese Woche nicht immer optimal. Morgen geht's in die Sauna - ich kann's kaum erwarten 🤗.#curlycorianda

For me, these exercises really hit all aspects of the legs and glutes 🔥 really focus on that mind to muscle connection which personally I do struggle with sometimes!!

Vor 10 Wochen hatte ich mein Baby per Kaiserschnitt entbunden, solange hatte ich mich geschont. 
Heute habe ich das erste Mal wieder ein paar Kraftübungen gemacht. Mir reichen die Spaziergänge, Tanzeinlagen im Wohnzimmer und die Tanzkurse nicht mehr.

Deshalb heute: 3 Runden jeweils 10 Crunches und 10 Squats sowie 3 Mal 20sec planken. 
Zuerst dachte ich, dass es völlig easy wäre, doch die Muskeln brennen jetzt doch... Der Ist-Zustand (ungefiltert und uneingezogen) ist bemerkenswert für einen Körper, der schon 3 Kinder zur Welt gebracht hat - danke an meinen Körper an dieser Stelle. Aber damit gebe ich mich nicht zufrieden - das ist erst der Beginn.

#facingthetruth Vor 10 Wochen hatte ich mein Baby per Kaiserschnitt entbunden, solange hatte ich mich geschont. Heute habe ich das erste Mal wieder ein paar Kraftübungen gemacht. Mir reichen die Spaziergänge, Tanzeinlagen im Wohnzimmer und die Tanzkurse nicht mehr. Deshalb heute: 3 Runden jeweils 10 Crunches und 10 Squats sowie 3 Mal 20sec planken. Zuerst dachte ich, dass es völlig easy wäre, doch die Muskeln brennen jetzt doch... Der Ist-Zustand (ungefiltert und uneingezogen) ist bemerkenswert für einen Körper, der schon 3 Kinder zur Welt gebracht hat - danke an meinen Körper an dieser Stelle. Final push session before I do some traveling for the next three weeks. I’m a routine kinda dude, so getting off a schedule tends to go along with a bit of anxiety of stalling my progress or even worse “LOSING MY GAINZ”. These so-called gainz can be both bicep and trombone related. 💥
Most of us can afford to take a step back for the sake of new, or just different experience. A change of environment is a great chance to revisit the basics or fundamentals of your practice and approach them with fresh perspective. The new location, (literally new perspective) can make it easier to reexamine the more tedious practices with fresh eyes. Then...take this FRESHNESS back to the home practice. Voila! Reinvigorated for the next bout of routine. 🔥
One way I frame this idea is, tailor practice to environment...not the other way around. I’m heading to Miami so for me that means rolling around in the grass and hitting a ton of basic bodyweight moves under some ☀️ (or at the very least some warmer weather). For trombone, it means leaving the etudes behind in favor of fundamentals, prep for rehearsals, and performance. 💯
Yes, unfortunately, I’m going to *temporarily* lose a bit (not all) of my hard earned ring strength and etude power. But, with all the above in mind, I think some time off will raise the overall ceiling...and floor. What do you think?! Gabe is insane? This is cool? I hate reading long comments? Let me know. 😳🚀

That means don't whip your body around to gain leverage... 👨🏻‍🏫 I know you all know this, but how do you eliminate a kip? Today has been a productive day despite finishing nightshift this morning and having 2hrs sleep 😴 
Went a 1hr 15min walk with a friend followed by a coffee, was great to get outdoors and fill the lungs with cold, crisp fresh air ❄️💨 followed by the gym tonight to do my resistance circuit from #activeplan and some HIIT sprints on the treadmill for 12 rounds 💪🙋🏼‍♀️ Dinner tonight was a tuna salad, absolutely devoured it 😂 and my #gracefit resistance band arrived today, excited to try it out during tomorrow’s circuit for an added burn 🔥🔥🔥

Exactly 4 weeks since @vicks_justkeeprunning dislocated her shoulder in a freak accident.
Her rehabilitation is going so well, we have integrated it into her conditioning, & she has just completed a 2.30hr run as part of her training for the London Marathon.
