Every summer we ask our group of explorers to come up with fantastical reasons for this particular cave. Answers range from goblins, to giant bees, to a war of magic, to a calcified brain! What story does it inspire *you* to tell?
Color choices. The kids LOVE it. But it’s a lot of prep work. If you allow them to choose their color then you can’t organize projects by color for easy distribution. BUT allowing the kids to make choices is SO important!! I’ve polled my kids and it’s a unanimous vote for YES!! 🙋♀️🙋♂️ We LOVE choosing our own color. I don’t think it always equals into better engagement but it does add into student buy in and ownership of their art. Which to me are most important 🥇 Where do you fall on this spectrum? Choice vs. color by class?? 🌈🌟

if you've ever been caught between a rock and a hard place, God is right there with you. #ArtClass. Looking at John Piper's work

Here is some artwork by @helloshinyart that she made @drsketchysnewcastleaustralia (which I run in Newcastle @softysclubhouse)
I think she’s captured all the bumps/lumps/curves/black very well for a ten minute pose. Love hosting this event for all the lovely Newcastle creatives xx

So what exactly goes on here at the Art Hub? We can answer that question with a comic. Total art nerd and co-op student extraordinaire Jessie Chang (@teliivision) created this incredible piece to showcase all the things that make Winged Canvas...well...Winged Canvas! 🤓🎨
Tap the blog link in our bio to learn about Jessie's creative process and how she created this amazing comic ✨

Every month we offer a number of free, public gallery programs. These are a great opportunity to meet our exhibitors and learn about their processes. So far this week we’ve had great presentations from Kendra Ferreira, as well as Don Beauchaine and Lorraine Bromley.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 19 at 3pm we will host a talk with Roberta Segal and Marilyn Saabye to accompany their current show on view in the Maxwell Mays Gallery. We hope you’ll join us, and learn more about these two talented artists.
